Rock Island Sidewalk Project
Pit Pond to Rock Island School

The Rock Island sidewalk project is a cooperative effort between Douglas County and the City of Rock Island.  It is scheduled for construction in 2008.  The project will install new 5 foot wide sidewalk along the south side of Saunders Avenue from the Pit Pond fishing area west to the existing sidewalk on Rock Island Drive.  New sidewalk will also be installed along the north side of Saunders Avenue from the City Limits east of N. Garden Avenue west to this same intersection.  An additional length of sidewalk will connect the Rock Island School with the existing sidewalk along the north side of Rock Island Road at Douglas Street.  Additionally, new sidewalk through the Rock Island School property will connect to the existing sidewalk on the west side of the school.
