NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The Douglas County Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing during their Wednesday, December 9, 2020 meeting. The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m.

The proposed amendments include adopting City of East Wenatchee Ordinances 2020-13 and 2020-14 regarding amendments to Title 17 Zoning establishing the Wenatchi Landing Overlay Zoning designation and amending the North End Subarea Planned Action within the unincorporated portions of the City’s urban growth area.

A Determination of Non-signifiance has been issued for the proposal in accordance with the State Environmental Policy Act.  The Planning Commission will be accepting public testimony on the proposal to make a recommendation on whether the amendments should be adopted.

  • Amendment to the North End Planned Action Ordinance adopted by the City of East Wenatchee with Ordinance 2016-16 and by Douglas County with Ordinance TLS 16-09-37C to add a cost of construction adjustment to the transportation mitigation fees

Notice of Open Record Public Hearing – Wenatchi Landing

The East Wenatchee Planning Commission will conduct an open record public hearing at their August 25, 2020 regularly scheduled public meeting. The meeting starts at 5:30 PM and will be held in the Council Chambers at East Wenatchee City Hall, 271 9th St. NE, East Wenatchee, WA. The public hearing will be part of the meeting agenda and will begin after the meeting has convened. This is a joint project with Douglas County. The purpose of the public hearing is to consider the following proposed amendments initiated by Douglas County:

  • ZTA 2019-03 – Proposed amendments to the East Wenatchee Municipal Code (EWMC) establishing a new North End Wenatchi Landing Overlay District.  Amendments to EWMC Chapters 17.34, 17.42, 17.46 and adding a new Chapter 17.54 North End Wenatchi Landing Overlay. 

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and in accordance with Governor’s Proclamation 20-28-.8 regarding the Open Public Meetings Act, Planning Commission meetings and hearings are being held remotely, including remote submission of public comments or testimony via a format available on the City’s website. Visit the City’s website at www.east-wenatchee.com for information on how to remotely participate in this hearing. The call-in information will be included on the agenda which will be available on the City’s website at least four days prior to the hearing.

NOTICE OF AVAILABILITY

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Douglas County and the City of East Wenatchee intend to adopt amendments to EWMC Title 17 Zoning.  The proposed amendments will better implement the North End (Wenatchi Landing) Subarea Plan of the Greater East Wenatchee Area Comprehensive Plan.  Proposed amendments are to Chapter 17.34 Commercial Land Use Matrix, Chapter 17.42 General Commercial District, Chapter 17.46 Waterfront Mixed Use District and the creation of a new district “North End Wenatchi Landing Overlay.

The draft amendments were transmitted to the Washington State Department of Commerce on November 18, 2019 in accordance with RCW 36.70A.106.   

AMENDMENTS:

The 60-day comment period commences on November 18, 2019 and concludes on January 17, 2020

Proposed amendments will be considered at a public hearing to be determined.  PLEASE NOTE that pursuant to DCC 14.32.070 that the primary public hearing opportunity for these amendments shall be through City of East Wenatchee City Council and Planning Commission.
