Badger Mountain Road Urban Project

Phase 1 -  Badger Mtn. Rd. URBAN   This road project is the reconstruction of Eastmont Avenue and Badger Mountain Road from 19th St NE to Fancher Field Road. It is designed to improve the horizontal and vertical alignments of the existing roadway, increase sight distance, add pedestrian facilities and illumination at key intersections. The project will result in a 32 foot wide urban roadway which includes 11 foot driving lanes, 5 foot bike lanes, curb, gutter and sidewalks. At select areas an 8 foot wide climbing/slow traffic pullout lane will be incorporated with the bike lane. A 12 foot left turn/center turn lane will be added from 19th St NE to Valley View Blvd., at Upper Ski View Drive and Lower Daniel’s Drive and from Fancher Heights Blvd. to Fancher Field Road. Construction is scheduled to begin in spring of 2006, with completion in fall of 2007.

Phase 2 -  Fancher Field Road Extension   This road project is a new alignment providing an alternate access to the Fancher Heights development area. It will extend the current Fancher Field Road down the hill to an intersection with the Eastmont Extension. The roadway section will consist of a 30 foot wide roadway with 11 foot driving lanes and 4 foot shoulders, guardrail and storm drainage facilities that will be used as a detour for P1 in 2007. Vertical grades will not be in excess of 10%. Construction will occur in 2006.

Phase 3 -  Eastmont Extension   This road project is a new alignment, continuing from an intersection with the Fancher Field Road Extension south to Eastmont Avenue and completing the alternate access for Fancher Heights. The roadway section will consist of a 24 foot wide roadway with 10 foot wide driving lanes and 2 foot shoulders, guardrail and storm drainage facilities. This alignment and profile are in the general location for final build out of the future Eastmont Extension (P-4) and will be used as a detour route for P1 in 2007. This construction will occur concurrently with the Fancher Field Road Extension in 2006.

Phase 4 -  Eastmont Extension (future)   This road project is a new alignment providing an alternate access from East Wenatchee to the Odabashsian Bridge. It will involve the widening and improvement of the section (P-3) constructed south from the Fancher Field Road Extension, along with an extension to the northwest along the bench to connect with the SR-2/97, SR-28 intersection. The current design calls for 12 foot driving lanes, curb, gutter and one side only sidewalk, along with 5 foot bike lanes, storm drainage facilities and a structure to allow crossing of Canyon B is also planned. Construction is anticipated in 2009 or 2010.
